When: January 7, 2006

Snow is no reason to stop hiking. Though your favorite footpath may be covered in deep powder, why pine for spring when you can slip on a pair of snowshoes and get out on the trail all winter long? Snowshoeing, after all, is simply hiking in winter.

Schedule: 10:00 am -3:00 pm, snowshoe demos need to be returned by 2:30-2:45 pm.

Directions: From Interstate 70, take the Mt. Evans exit for Route 103 and continue on for 14 miles .

Unique aspects of this event: Winter Trails Day is a free snowshoe festival with hundreds of demo snowshoes for adults and children; guided hikes; snow activities; and outdoor gear displays.

Things to remember: Bring food, drink, and warm clothing. For tips on what to wear or bring, ask one of our expert staff.
