15th Winter Trails Celebrates a Great Turnout with Premier Snow Conditions at Most Venues
Thanks to those who attended Winter Trails on January 9. Nearly 90 venues throughout the U.S. hosted events with a few more still to be held including Estes Park, CO on January 16. Locations included including alpine resorts, Nordic centers and national parks. Organizers estimate that participation exceeded last year’s total participation of 10,500 due to snow cover in most parts of the country. Winter Trails enables children and adults new to snow sports to try snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing free at participating venues.
Winter Trails celebrated its 15th season this year. It was the snowshoe/cross country component of Learn a Snow Sport Month being held during the entire month of January. Check out learnasnowsport.org for alpine ski and snowboard learning programs.
